Hot Brew vs Cold Brew: 2 Ways to Enjoy Blue Tea

Blue Tea can be enjoyed in more than one way. With Himora Blue Tea, whole butterfly pea flowers can be prepared as a warm, comforting cup or as a refreshing cold brew.

The main difference is the brewing method, water temperature and preparation time. Here is a simple guide to both.

1. Hot Brew: Warm & Comforting

Hot brewing is ideal when you want a warm cup of Blue Tea without a long waiting time.

How to make it:

  • Take 5–7 dried butterfly pea flowers.
  • Add them to 200 ml of hot water.
  • Use water at around 90–95°C.
  • Let the flowers steep for 5–7 minutes.
  • Strain and enjoy.

The longer the flowers steep, the deeper the infusion can become. You can also add lemon for a naturally changing colour experience.

2. Cold Brew: Smooth & Refreshing

Cold brewing takes longer but is an easy option when you want a chilled drink.

How to make it:

  • Take 5–6 dried butterfly pea flowers.
  • Add them to 200 ml of room-temperature water.
  • Place the mixture in the refrigerator for 6–8 hours or overnight.
  • Strain before serving.
  • Add ice if you prefer a chilled drink.

For a refreshing twist, you can add lemon after brewing.

3. Hot Brew vs Cold Brew

4. Which One Should You Choose?

There is no single way to enjoy Blue Tea.

Choose hot brewing when you want a quick, warm cup. Choose cold brewing when you have time to prepare your drink in advance and want something refreshing.

Both methods allow you to enjoy the natural character of butterfly pea flowers in a simple tea ritual.

5. A Simple Brewing Tip

The strength of your Blue Tea can be adjusted according to your preference. You can experiment with the number of flowers and brewing time until you find the taste you enjoy most.

And if you add lemon, you may notice the naturally blue infusion shift toward violet or purple because of the change in acidity.

Make Blue Tea Your Way

Whether you prefer a warm morning cup or a chilled afternoon drink, Himora Blue Tea can easily fit into different tea routines.

Hot or cold, choose your brew and enjoy your cup your way.
